ABOUT KIRSTEN
Over the last decade Kirsten has worked largely as a vocalist performing and recording with artists such as The Little Bushman and the NZSO, NZ music award winners, Wai, Harbour City Electric, Toni Huata and Tina Cross to name a few.
For the past six years Kirsten has been the face of the AA Rewards campaign appearing in commercials, print and web mediums. Other television credits include One Night Only as a backing vocalist, a finalist in TV2 Showstoppers and performer in Coca Cola Christmas in the Park.
Kirsten has worked extensively in the genre of musical theatre, most recently as Gigi in Miss Saigon and was part of the cast of the Disney musical The Lion King with stints in Melbourne and Shanghai.
While she enjoys working in many fields, Kirstens main focus is now working on her own material. BEBE DELUXES first single with accompanying video was released in December 2009 and has received lots of support from radio and television, playing on Juice TV and Homegrown on C4.
Kirsten is a Wellingtonian and is of Nz pakeha and Maori descent (Ngati Kahungunu/Rongomaiwahine/Ngati Hinemanu)
ABOUT JAMES
Prolific keys player and a regular on the New Zealand music scene James Illingworth can often be found ripping it up to an appreciative audience at gigs and festivals around the country with a vast array of musical people such as Iva Lamkum, Recloose, Rio Hemopo and Lisa Tomlins.
James started his music training at the tender age of six and has been firmly attached to his piano ever since. As a graduate of the New Zealand School of Music, with a BMUS in Jazz Performance James has carved out a career for himself doing what he loves, playing keys, composing and arranging.
With many strings to his bow James plays a cacophony of musical styles in many bands for shows, concerts, recording sessions and television including jazz, R&B, salsa, musical theatre (Vector Orchestra) and is also a sought after accompanist for vocalists.
James will continue to hone his craft and work on his own projects setting his sights on releasing the next single and debut album with BEBE DELUXE. Also in the pipeline is a solo piano album and projects with the James Illingworth Trio which holds a residency at the Courtenay Place restaurant/bar, Public every Sunday evening.
James is originally from Kamo, Whangarei but now resides in Wellington.
